Your home doesn’t have to look like a showroom to be beautiful.

In fact, we think the most interesting homes are the ones that feel personal — a little bit of colour here, some natural texture there, a favourite mug on the kitchen shelf, a handmade bowl beside the bed.

Google has recently seen a huge increase in searches for “home decor inspo”, showing just how many of us are looking for fresh ideas to make our spaces feel more like home.

At Lili & Co, we’re rather fond of the little things that make a difference.

Add texture

Handmade ceramics are an easy way to introduce texture and character into a room.

A beautifully glazed bowl, a hand-painted mug or a little ceramic dish can add interest without requiring you to redecorate the entire space.

Bring a little nature inside

Plants are an obvious choice, but nature can also appear through colour, shape and pattern.

Our ceramics are often inspired by the things around us — fynbos, flowers, the coast, birds and the natural shapes we see every day.

Even something as simple as a botanical-imprinted soap dish can bring that feeling into an otherwise ordinary bathroom.

Use colour in small doses

You don’t have to paint an entire room bright yellow to make it colourful.

A blue mug. A green bowl. A colourful platter. A little painted piece on a shelf.

Small pops of colour can make a neutral room feel much more alive.

Mix old, new and handmade

We love the way handmade ceramics look alongside modern furniture and contemporary interiors.

Everything doesn’t have to match.

A little imperfection, an unusual shape or a piece that looks slightly different from everything else is often what gives a room its personality.

And most importantly — choose things you love

Trends come and go.

Your home is yours.

Choose the mug that makes you happy in the morning. The platter you can’t wait to use when friends come over. The little bowl that makes you smile every time you see it.

Those are the things that turn a house into a home.

At Lili & Co, we make handmade ceramics for exactly that reason — little things that bring colour, character and a bit of joy into everyday life.
